A tiny kitten named Hope is capturing hearts at the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home (CDCH) after being rescued with a severe leg injury that left her struggling to walk.
When CDCH team member Sam first met her, Hope was just ten weeks old — small, fragile, and trying her best to please despite her obvious pain. “There was this spark in her eyes,” Sam recalls. “She wasn’t giving up. In that moment, we knew we had to call her Hope — because that’s exactly what she is.”
Thanks to the swift action of the CDCH team, Hope received emergency care from Veterinary Surgeon Morwenna Fry BVetMed MRCVS at the CDCH Animal Rescue Centre, before being rushed to Vale Vets for urgent x-rays. The diagnosis revealed that Hope requires immediate surgery to repair her damaged leg — a procedure costing £1,800.
This surgery will give her the best possible chance at a pain-free, happy life. Without it, her future remains uncertain.
“Hope’s story is a reminder of why we do what we do,” said a CDCH spokesperson. “Every animal deserves a chance to live free from pain and fear. But we can only continue this vital work thanks to the generosity of our supporters.”
CDCH is now appealing to the public to help cover the cost of Hope’s surgery and ongoing care. Every donation, no matter how small, will help give Hope the chance to grow up healthy and strong — enjoying all the things every kitten deserves: lap snuggles, playful pounces, and a safe, loving home.
