A ‘barn find’ collection of vintage motorcycles dating from the 1970s is set to be sold at auction.
Found at a property in Bristol, the collection of dry stored motorcycles includes Honda CB400F bikes, a Honda H100S and Honda C70 and C90 step-throughs. There is also a large collection of spare parts, ranging from wheels, tanks and saddles through to engine parts.
“We have a collection of carburettors, three banks of carburettors for the CB400-4 along with the top of the engine, the barrels and the pistons, the yokes, suspension units, handlebars, and a good selection of parts to get your projects back on the road,” said Ian Brunt from Wotton Auction Rooms in Wotton-under-Edge.
“The good thing about this collection is that every motorcycle in this sale comes with a V5 registration document and most of them have the original keys – so a good project with all the paperwork up together,” added Ian.
The collection consists of a Honda CB400F, registered in 1978, and with an estimate of £1,200-£1,400; another 1976 CB400F (est £800-900); a 1984 Honda H100S (est £600-£800); a 1984 Honda C70 (est £400-£600); a 1976 Honda C70 (est £400-£600); a 1982 Honda CD200 (est £700-£900); a 1973 Honda CB175 (est £800-£1,000); a 1976 Honda CB400F (est £800-£1,000); a 1988 Honda C90 MG (est £500-£600); a 1980 Honda CB250 RS (est £600-£800) and a 1984 Yamaha YB100 (est £700-£900).
Auctioneer Joseph Trinder added: “It’s quite extraordinary to find a collection like this that has been dry stored, and each of the vehicles comes with its V5 document. There has been a lot of interest in these vehicles which will be sold on Wednesday, August 26th.”
