Centenary Lounge is delighted to announce the opening of a new quality café on Platform 1 at Stroud station.

Working in partnership with the Railway Heritage Trust and Great Western Railway (GWR), Centenary Lounge has carefully restored the station’s historic café, breathing new life into a much-loved but previously neglected space.

The café on Platform 1 required significant renovation, and following the completion of the restoration, passengers and visitors can now enjoy a welcoming and relaxed environment in which to take refreshment before continuing their journey.

The new café offers a wide selection of hot and cold drinks, alongside wines and beers. An Express Menu is available throughout the day, featuring soup of the day, sandwiches, toasties, paninis, pastries and cakes.

Aasia Baig, Founder of Centenary Lounge, said: “When I was first contacted by GWR asking if I would be interested in the café at Stroud Station, I didn’t have to think twice. We already operate very successful cafés at Moor Street Station, Leamington Station and Taunton Station, and with my love of railway history and art deco-style buildings, I wasn’t about to refuse the opportunity to run another GWR venue. With the restoration now complete, passengers can once again enjoy a wide range of food and drink refreshments.”

In early 2026, Centenary Lounge plans to expand into the adjacent room to create a relaxing lounge area. This will offer an extended range of refreshments, including cocktails and afternoon teas.

The opening of the Centenary Lounge café at Stroud Station reinforces the company’s commitment to preserving historic railway spaces while providing high-quality food and drink in distinctive settings for both travellers and the local community.
