Heartbreaking discovery as woman in her 30s found dead in canal

A woman in her 30s has sadly been found dead in a canal near an industrial estate near Stonehouse.

Emergency services were called at around 9.30am on Monday, April 20, after a report from the ambulance service. Police and other responders attended the scene, where the woman’s body was recovered.

Officers have said the death is not being treated as suspicious. The woman’s family has been informed, and the coroner will continue to look into the circumstances.
