Thousands expected as Gloucestershire’s biggest community festival returns to Chalford
Thousands of festivalgoers are expected to head to Chalford next month as Chalfest returns with one of its strongest line-ups to date.
The volunteer-run festival, which takes place at France Lynch Pleasure Ground on 17 and 18 July 2026, has announced a Main Stage line-up featuring M People star Heather Small, chart-topping rapper Tinchy Stryder, pop favourite Chesney Hawkes and family entertainment legends Dick & Dom.
The weekend will begin with a special Retrospective of House takeover on Friday night, headlined by BBC Radio 1 Dance Anthems presenter Charlie Hedges, while Saturday night will close with a huge festival party from Discoliscious, featuring DJs Jemma Bolt and Woody Cook.

Now firmly established as one of Gloucestershire’s most popular independent festivals, Chalfest combines nationally recognised artists with a unique community atmosphere, attracting visitors from across the South West while remaining rooted in its Chalford home.
Alongside the headline acts, visitors can enjoy performances across three music stages, a packed comedy programme, the popular Village Green and a huge range of activities for families.

Children and young people will be able to enjoy dozens of free activities throughout the weekend, including arts and crafts, interactive workshops, games, performances and hands-on experiences designed to keep families entertained all day.
Festivalgoers can also explore artisan food and drink stalls, local traders, community groups and roaming entertainment, creating what organisers describe as a festival experience for all ages.

Festival Director Dan Burner said: “Chalfest has always been about bringing people together. Every year we’re proud to welcome people from across Gloucestershire and beyond to celebrate music, creativity and community.
“To be able to bring artists such as Heather Small, Tinchy Stryder and Chesney Hawkes to Chalford is incredibly exciting, but what makes Chalfest truly special is the community spirit behind it. The festival is powered by volunteers and supported by local businesses, organisations and residents who help make it happen.

“Whether you’re coming for the music, the comedy, the family activities or simply to enjoy a great summer weekend with friends, there’s something for everyone.”

Since its launch, Chalfest has grown from a local community event into one of the South West’s most distinctive festivals while maintaining its not-for-profit ethos and strong local roots.
