Police have issued a 48-hour dispersal order covering Stroud town centre following multiple reports of youths allegedly causing anti-social behaviour, harassment, alarm and distress to members of the public and local businesses.
The order came into force at 3pm on Friday, September 25, and will remain in place until 3pm on Sunday, September 27.
Under Sections 34–36 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, police can direct people to leave a designated area and prevent them from returning for up to 48 hours.
Officers can also confiscate items being used in anti-social behaviour.
Anyone who fails to comply with a direction without reasonable excuse could be committing a criminal offence.
Police are asking anyone experiencing anti-social behaviour to report it via 101. If a crime is taking place and offenders are present or nearby, call 999.
