Green Party deputy leader Rachel Millward will appear alongside veteran environmentalist, writer and campaigner Jonathon Porritt at a special event in Stroud later this month.
The pair will share a platform for the first time at Lansdown Hall on Friday, October 23, where they will discuss the future of the green movement and the challenges and opportunities facing the planet.
Organisers say the event will focus on questions from the audience rather than a series of speeches.
Local Young Greens will put questions to the speakers on issues including climate change, communities, politics and the future of the green movement, while older members of the audience will also have the opportunity to take part in the discussion.
Organiser Adrian Oldman said: “This won’t be a series of speeches from the stage. Young people are those who will have to live with the choices we make now.

“So local Young Greens will be asking the questions that matter about the climate, our communities, politics and the future of the green movement.
“But there’ll be plenty of opportunity for older audience members to put their questions to the speakers too. It will be an evening of ideas, challenge and conversation.”
The event runs from 7pm to 9pm and is open to everyone, not just Green Party members.
Admission is by ticket only, with tickets priced at £10. Admission is free for Young Greens and unwaged attendees, while pay-it-forward tickets are also available.
Organisers say profits from the event will go to Green Party funds.
