A special launch evening on Wednesday saw the opening of the new Italian restaurant, Terra, at the Five Valleys Shopping Centre in Stroud.

A new team of seven have also been appointed to join the owners, Matteo Conte and Clara Cardillo, to create and serve the great selection of Italian food and drinks brought to the UK from Rome, where Matteo and Clara moved from eight years ago.

The new restaurant and bar is situated in the Sandersons boutique store. From today people are able to book their table and enjoy a range of delicious authentic recipes from handmade Raviolone to their signature family Tiramisu.

Open for breakfast too, diners will be offered a warm Mediterranean welcome with a side of great quality Italian coffee.

Matteo and Clara have worked closely with the owners of Sandersons to create a luxurious restaurant and food offer to complement the shopping experience within the boutique store.

Now fully open and taking bookings in time for Father’s Day weekend, Terra will serve a delicious selection of homemade Italian food using their unique recipes handed down through the generations from their family in Rome.

With a menu for breakfast, lunch and opening late on a Friday for dinner, good quality ingredients are at the core of this menu as well as their unique family produced limoncello.

As well as delicious food there is also an extensive selection of carefully selected Italian wine, prosecco and a range of cocktails.

Clara said: “We are passionate about serving exquisite Italian food using the best ingredients we can find to complement our traditional family recipes.”

The restaurant welcomed VIP guests to their launch evening yesterday and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive regarding the look of the restaurant, delicious food and great customer service from the newly appointed team of staff.

Clara continued: “We’d like to thank from the bottom of our hearts the guests who attended and showed their support for our opening night. We hope to see many of them again soon.”

Simon Bateman, Store Manager at Sandersons, said: “The new restaurant and bar looks fantastic, we’d like to wish the team at Terra all the very best and look forward to working with them to deliver a fantastic dining experience to our shoppers.”
