Birmingham City are plotting a move for former Forest Green boss Mark Cooper, according to Football Insider.
The 57-year-old, who has been out of work since he was sacked by Yeovil in August, is in contention to take over as the club’s new Under-21s manager.
A former Blues player, Cooper played 39 times for Birmingham between 1991 and 1992 as the club achieved promotion from the third tier into the then-named First Division under the management of his father, the late Leeds United legend, Terry.
Cooper spent almost five years at Forest Green and led the club to promotion to the English Football League at the end of his first season with the club.
He was dismissed by Rovers in April 2021 after four straight defeats with Rovers sixth in League Two and five points off the automatic promotion places.
He went on to manage Barrow and more recently Yeovil – winning the National League South, before his departure last summer.
