Brimscombe dedicate game to Mark Prior

Brimscombe assistant manager Tim Wilkins dedicated the Lilywhites’ scintillating 6-2 victory over Tuffley Rovers to the memory of Mark Prior.

Mark, the father of Brimscombe boss Sam, sadly passed away over the new year.

A hat-trick for Jack Smith and strikes from Kyle Pitts, Sam Folkes and Jonty Welch saw Brimscombe gain the derby day bragging rights.

“The result is definitely dedicated to the Prior family,” said Wilkins. “After going 2 – 1 down, we still felt confident the boys would come through and a 4 – 2 half-time score confirmed that. Scoring 2 more goals in the 2nd half showed the spirit and passion our current players have for the club and especially Sammy. The loss of Mark Prior is devastating. A great family man and supporter/sponsor of our club will be sorely missed. We have to rally together now to support Sammy and his family as an utmost priority. Football, although important, comes second at this time.”

Brimscombe welcome Corsham Town to the Meadow on Saturday, 3pm.

Letter to the editor: GlosWomen’s response to Dr Simon Opher’s article

Dear editor, it was good to see Simon Opher’s account of his meeting with Chrissie Lowery from the Night Angels - women working hard to provide front line support and, impressively, funding this themselves. We really admire and respect the women doing this important work.
