Stonehouse Town boss Adam Coyle was full of praise for Harley Hudd after the striker fired a first-half hat-trick to secure a 3–1 win over University Bristol in the Hellenic Challenge Cup.
Hit-man Hudd has seamlessly made the step up from Stroud League Taverners much to the delight of boss Coyle: “Really pleased for Harley to get his hat-trick, he’s a really great kid with bags of potential and someone you want to put time into.”

Coyle was also quick to highlight the influence of his assistant and experienced striker Karl Nash in helping Hudd develop his game: “Nashy (Karl Nash) works really hard with him and Harley listens and takes things onboard and it’s showing in his performances.”
While pleased with the result, Coyle urged his side to build consistency: “These cup games have come at the right time to get minutes into people and get some lads back from injury,” he said. “Now we’re aiming to nail down the consistency in our performances and take that into the league games.”
Coyle has bolstered his front line with the signing of former Sharpness, Longlevens, Shortwood and Brimscombe striker Dan Gayner :“Dan will give good competition to the forward players,” said Coyle. “He’s a little different style-wise to what we have, so it’s a good thing to be able to change things around.”
