Gloucestershire Northern Senior League One
Dursley Town 1 Cheltenham Athletic 1
Dursley Town’s promotion hopes hit the buffers after a contentious equaliser forced Karl Nash’s side to settle for a point at The Rec.
Earlier, Josh Jones gave Dursley the lead as he got on the end of Karl Nash’s pin-point corner. However, Cheltenham netted parity in fortuitous circumstances with Dursley appealing for handball – Nick Jones turned the ball in beyond Jordan Schofield with six minutes to go.
Boss Nash was hoping for a response after the defeat at promotion rivals Chalford last week, but felt his side dropped two crucial points on Saturday: “We’re still not where I wanted us to be and it was two points dropped yesterday, but we can’t change it now and we have another tough test away to Longlevens next week.”
Nash will be boosted by the return of Aaron Nash, who was unavailable due to an angling championship. Goalkeeper Ben Jagger is expected to miss out with a thumb injury.
