Fiery ceremony marks the end of summer

Stroud’s female Boss Morris group marked Summer’s End in a new ceremony at Hawkwood College near Stroud.

The ten members processed to a spring in the college’s rural grounds, drank the water then danced around a straw sculpture of the sun before setting it alight and performing a toast.

The end of August also marks the troop’s sixth birthday, and the ceremony will become an annual event.
