Flashback: Merrywalks redevelopment

These pictures, taken in January 2005, show the construction of the new cinema and retail units in Stroud’s Merrywalks.

The bus station had closed in 2004 and was replaced by a number of bus stops along the A46. The six-screen Apollo Cinema opened in 2005, later renamed when the company was acquired by Vue Cinemas.
