These pictures, taken in January 2005, show the construction of the new cinema and retail units in Stroud’s Merrywalks.

The bus station had closed in 2004 and was replaced by a number of bus stops along the A46. The six-screen Apollo Cinema opened in 2005, later renamed when the company was acquired by Vue Cinemas.
