Forest Green have signed teenage midfielder Alfie Bendle on a permanent transfer from AFC Wimbledon.
The 18-year-old was on the books at Lewes before joining AFC Wimbledon in 2021. He made 17 first-team appearances while at the Dons, making his debut on the final day of the 2021/22 League One campaign.
Bendle has enjoyed loan spells with Corinthian Casuals, and most recently, Eastbourne Borough, where he played 11 games last term in the National League South.
After joining Rovers, Bendle said” It feels brilliant to be here. As soon as I heard that a move was a possibility, I wanted to get it done as quickly as possible.
“I’m a box-to-box midfielder, scoring goals, stopping goals, assisting goals. I’m a creative player with good passing.”
David Horseman added: “Alfie is a player who comes highly recommended from our recruitment team.
“He’s a very talented technical player and he also puts himself about. He can play anywhere across the midfield and we hope he’ll be a big player in the future.”
