Funeral details announced for Brimscombe & Thrupp stalwart Clive Baker

Funeral details of Brimscombe & Thrupp stalwart Clive Baker have been released.

The club’s much-loved Vice President and former Chairman, passed away following a short illness.

Clive’s funeral will take place on Monday, September 29 at 11.am, at The Oak Chapel, Cheltenham Crematorium, followed by refreshments at The Old Lodge, Minchinhampton.

Clive’s son, Phil, said: “On behalf of all our family, we would like to thank you all so much for your kind words following losing Dad. We always knew he was a very special person, and we have been overwhelmed by all the messages we have received and how much he meant to others. Everybody is welcome to join us in celebrating the very special and much-loved man he was.”

The family has requested family flowers only, with any donations in lieu to be given to Longfield Hospice.

Brimscombe & Thrupp FC said in a statement: “Clive was a true stalwart of the club, giving so much of his time, passion, and commitment over many years. He will be remembered not only for his leadership but also for his warmth, generosity, and love for the Brimscombe & Thrupp community. He will be greatly missed by everyone connected with the club.”
