Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts have reportedly submitted a bid for Forest Green Rovers captain Laurent Mendy, according to Football Insider’s Peter O’Rourke.
The 28-year-old has been Rovers’ standout performer this season. Since joining from Macclesfield, Mendy has quickly become a key figure under manager Robbie Savage, impressing with his leadership and consistency.
However, Stroud Times understands the offer tabled is derisory, with only a significantly higher bid likely to tempt Forest Green’s top brass into considering a sale.
Derek McInnes’ side are said to have formalised their interest by submitting the offer to Rovers’ sporting director, Mark Bowen. Despite this, the bid is believed to undervalue Mendy, who is expected to lead his team out against Altrincham tomorrow night.
