Stroud Rotary’s Father Christmas collection at Five Valleys Centre raised £1,800 for the Stroud-based Allsorts toy library.

Martyn Harwood, President of Stroud Rotary said: “The generosity of the shoppers and a donation of £200 meant we have raised £1,800 pounds for the Allsorts charity which will go towards their toy library, which we helped start back in 2009.”

Stroud Rotary would like to express its thanks to Jessica Derham, Five Valleys Centre Manager for her co-operation and to the Five Valleys Centre for supplying Christmas presents to hand out.  Rotary members were pleased to be helped by Stroud Inner Wheel and Allsorts volunteers to collect money while Father Christmas was kept busy chatting to shoppers and their children in a Covid safe way.

The Stroud based charity, Allsorts is for families who have children with additional needs and is based in the office suite of the London Road MSCP. Allsorts have a large range of high-quality toys to choose from in their lending library, giving families the opportunity to find which toys work best for their child.

Toys aren’t just about play, they can also improve physical, developmental and cognitive skills in a fun and safe way. The charity is extremely proud of its sensory items, such as lighting, tactile toys and weighted blankets.
