MOST READ

New Frocester captain Will Naish clubbed 96 runs from 86 balls as the Pounds Close outfit grabbed the bragging rights over Stroud with a comfortable nine-wicket Premier 2 victory.

Earlier, Naish won the toss and put Louis Gegg’s side into bat. Stroud got off to a poor start, openers Taylor Ireland and Ewan Gegg falling cheaply to Devlin Webb and Nathan Rose Innes.

However, captain Louis Gegg dug in against his former club with a defiant 41 runs off 105 balls before succumbing to the impressive Rose Innes.

Webb and Rose Innes finished with three wickets apiece and Tom Drake a brace as Stroud fell to 163 all out.

In reply, Frocester cantered comfortably home – Naish leading the way with a rapid 96 and Johnny Griffiths carried his bat to 49 not out with former captain Uzi Quershi undefeated with 12 as the Pounds Close side closed on 166 for the loss of one wicket.
