New Stonehouse boss Craig Robinson gained the derby day bragging rights over former Magpies’ boss Ian Soule, as his side bagged a comprehensive 3-1 victory, to end Shortwood’s unbeaten start to the season.

Robinson, who replaced Chris Burns at the helm, saw his side dominate from start to finish as an under-strength Shortwood side failed to hit recent heights.

Stonehouse got off to a flying start – former Wood player Nick Humphreys fizzing beyond Jacob Muir on five minutes from a Fowler cross.

Ex-Shortwood midfielder Alex Kibble rattled the bar twice before hitting a sumptuous second for the Magpies from 20 yards.

Shortwood pulled one back with 19 minutes to go as striker Jack Rhodes struck from a Nathan Payne corner.

However, Stonehouse made it 3-1 in stoppage time through Jackson Dean.
