Stuart Nelson has joined Forest Green’s promotion rivals Sutton United.

Stroud-born Nelson has had a stellar career in the game, racking up more than 500 professional games at the likes of Norwich City, Aberdeen, and Brentford.

The former Archway student started the season training with Joey Barton’s Bristol Rovers before a short stint at Dorking FC.

Nelson said: “I’m absolutely buzzing with the move. I can already see that it’s a fantastic club that’s definitely going places on and off the pitch.”
