Marling School is celebrating the success of its Year 11 students, who have achieved an excellent set of GCSE results. With 41% of all exams at the very highest 9-8 grades, 60% at grades 9-7 and 82% at grades 9-6, the school is delighted with today’s results.
There are many stories of individual success with 49 students gaining 8 or more grade 8s and 9s, 158 students getting at least one grade 9, and 88 achieving 5 or more grade 7s and above.

Student, Alfie Elliott celebrating today with a combination of 9s, 8s and 6s. Alfie said: “It’s been a difficult six years, I haven’t found it easy, but I’m thrilled with my results – it is great to see my hard work paid off. I’m really looking forward to coming to Marling 6th form.”
Beau Dominey, 6x9s, 2x8s, said: “I’m really pleased and glad to be coming to 6th form to study maths, chemistry, physics and music.”
Jack Peters, 8 x9s, 1×8, said: “I couldn’t have done it without support of teachers, family and friends. I’m studying maths, further maths, physics and computing at Marling next year.”

Alfie Stick, 9x9s, added: “I’m so happy to have done so well. I’m going to study Maths, biology, chemistry and EPQ and Latin at Marling.”
Jules Godfrey, Principal, said: “We’ve had a fantastic morning celebrating our students’ exam successes. These achievements are well-earned, reflecting the hard work our students have put into every grade. I want to extend my gratitude to our exceptional staff who have inspired and tirelessly supported our students, both in and out of lessons.”

The entrance criteria for Marling Sixth Form are 38 points across six GCSEs and a minimum of grade 5 in Maths and English. A large majority of Marling students will be going on to study A-levels in Marling Sixth Form, along with up to 100 students joining from a wide range of Gloucestershire schools.
