Stroud-based electronica music producer Sam Judd, whose globally influenced sound has attracted a dedicated following, will play his unique compositions at Star Anise on Saturday.
Joining as a special guest at the Global Beats Solstice celebrations, Sam will be showcasing the various audio he has collected on his travels – from the bustling streets of Thailand, to sounds of tropical rainforests and the audible serenity of temples in East Asia.
Sam’s EP, ‘Temple Music’ is innovative electronic dance music, using sound clips from various countries he has travelled in, with each track reflecting a new destination. His most recent release ‘Long Ride Home’ samples sounds from France and Croatia. His music has featured on BBCs ‘Introducing’, the radio show that champions unsigned artists. He can be heard on Spotify, Soundcloud and other streaming services, and his music can be bought on Bandcamp.
” Sam creates a unique euphoric live electronic set that gets everyone dancing,” said Jagdish Patel, DJ and organiser at Global Beats.
Joining Global Beats in this celebration of the winter Solstice will be DJ Selva, (well known in Stroud for her Samba dancing), playing Latin music and DJ Flory who will be spinning Colombian tunes collected from her many trips to Colombia. DJ JagP will be playing a wide range of world dance music, stretching from the desserts of the Middle East to the high ranges of Tibet- all tuned for the dance floor.
Doors open at 7.30pm for the Global Beats Solstice celebration with Sam Judd kicking off the evening playing in the open air courtyard, accompanied by a lightshow. Warming yule drinks will be available.
