Robbie Savage has moved quickly to end speculation linking him with the vacant Bristol Rovers job, insisting he is fully committed to a long-term project at Forest Green Rovers.
The Gas parted company with head coach Darrell Clarke following Saturday’s 3–0 home defeat to Swindon Town, a result that extended the club’s losing run to ten consecutive League Two matches — a new club record.
Despite speculation linking Savage with the role, betting markets list Former Northampton Town boss Jon Brady as the current favourite at 6/4, with Savage priced at 16/1 by BetVictor.

When approached by the Stroud Times, Savage insisted his focus remains firmly with Forest Green. “I don’t know who has linked me with the job — it’s the first I’ve heard of it,” Savage said. “But I would not take the Bristol Rovers job. I’ve got a four-year project at Forest Green and I want to repay the faith that Dale (Vince), Asif (Rehmanwala) and Mark (Bowen) have shown in me.”
Savage has made a mesmeric start to his Forest Green career, guiding the Gloucestershire outfit to second in the National League table with just two defeats in 22 matches.
