The inaugural Will Reay Memorial Shortwood United Golf Day took place at Stinchcombe Golf Club.
A former player and latterly treasurer and chairman at the Nailsworth club, much-loved Will passed away in February. A keen golfer and a caddie for his close friend Stuart Little, the European Tour and Minchinhampton New Course professional.

Star green: Mark Anderson, Charlie Anderson, Simon Freeman and Nick Sarson received the trophy from Colin Reay, Will’s brother, who made the journey from Newcastle to play.

The winners of the Will Reay Award, given for teams without official handicaps, were Flaming Foxes: Shortwood boss Marcus Foxwell, former Shortwood midfielder Doug Foxwell, Lewis Smith and Luke Parker.
Matt Ames and Linda Lee won Push Trolleys in the raffle, kindly donated by Stewart Golf.
Liz Sandiland, Minchinhampton Ladies’ captain, scored a hole-in-one on the 15th.
