Former Premier League star Robbie Savage has been spotted in Stroud this morning, according to reports.
Savage and Forest Green director of football Mark Bowen were spied near Starbucks and were understood to be heading towards Ecotricity HQ in Stroud.
An eyewitness told Stroud Times: “Robbie is a standout character with his blonde hair and he was walking through Stroud with Rovers’ new director of football, Mark Bowen, who was dressed in a suit – if it wasn’t him it was certainly a good lookalike.”
Savage and Bowen have history together in football through their association with the Wales national team and Birmingham City.
Bowen served as an assistant coach to Mark Hughes for Wales and also worked alongside Steve Bruce at Birmingham City, where Savage was a player. Savage has spoken highly of Bowen’s coaching abilities, stating he would “run through brick walls” for him according to the Lancashire Telegraph.

Savage was a regular visitor to the New Lawn to watch his son Charlie play for Rovers during his loan spell from Manchester United during the 2022/23 season.
In May, Savage signed a two-year deal to remain in charge of non-league side Macclesfield FC in May after interest from other clubs.
Savage guided the Silkmen to promotion to the sixth tier of English football last season.
The ex-Leicester and Derby midfielder, who is a shareholder in Macclesfield, was director of football before taking charge of the first team last year.
