Stroud record label set for Record Store Day LP release

Klang Tone Records, based in Lansdown, Stroud, has made alternative plans for this year’s Record Store Day (RSD) which takes place on Saturday, April 12th.

Owner Sean Roe isn’t officially participating in the event but is releasing a unique LP on his Klang Tone Records label.

“For Record Store Day I’m releasing a limited number of copies of our label’s latest release by Tezeta, entitled Seventh Place. Tezeta were a Bristol-based eight-piece band led by Daniel Inzani, who now resides in Stroud,” explained Sean.

“The album was recorded 10 years ago and had a very limited release on CD – copies of which were sold at their performances. I was lucky enough to get a copy and and fell under its spell – a bewitching mix of jazz fused with Ethiopian music and progressive rock – wonderfully complex and melodic at the same time.

Daniel’s reputation as a composer through his solo work and with Spindle Ensemble has grown in recent years – his last LP set Selected Worlds received a rare five-star review in The Guardian – so I thought it would be great to release this lost classic from Daniel’s back catalogue and let more people be charmed by it as I was. So, for RSD 2025 I’ll be exclusively selling copies of the Tezeta LP before the official release date on 31 May when other shops will be stocking it.

“Swing by Klang Tone on 12 April to get your copy. I’ve been holding some nice records back, so I’ll also be putting out a stack of nice LPs on the day as well.”
