Former Forest Green boss Rob Edwards has been interviewed for the Wolves’ job.

The 39-year-old spent four years at the Midlands outfit between 2004 and 2008 where he featured in 111 games.

After retiring at the age of 30, Edwards returned to coach for the Under-18s in 2013, before becoming a first team coach two years later.

And after then-boss Walter Zenga was sacked in September 2016, Edwards took charge of the club for two matches prior to Paul Lambert’s arrival.

Since departing in 2017, he has managed AFC Telford and England’s U16s, before leading Rovers to League One last season, going onto manager Watford this season.

He was named as the League Two Manager of the Season for the 2021/22 campaign after winning the fourth division title.
