Eagle-eyed Dom Salter was in for a shock on his stroll through Stroud – spotting what appeared to be a crocodile basking in the canal!

Dom, who runs popular family bakers Salthouse Bakehouse, captured this picture of a floating croc on the canal near Waitrose.

“I thought it was a flip-flop wearing arty Stroudie doing a prank but the more we think about it the more I think maybe it was a crocodile because on the way back it was gone – I’m thinking maybe it was real now,” joked Dominic.
