Last night The Long Table in Brimscombe launched their Christmas project, The Longest Table.

Co-founder of the Long Table, Tom Herbert explained: “Tonight, we’re launching The Longest Table, our Christmas project for this year. We ran it last year and it was a great success – the feedback was amazing, but we were coming out of COVID.

“This year things are even worse – the cost of living crisis is looming, and people are worried about how they’re going to get through the winter.

“We feel more than ever that ‘together’ is how we will get through this winter. We know that awesome things happen when we eat together, and the Longest Table packs can be downloaded from our website which explain how you can organise an event.”

The Longest Table 2022 will take place between Friday, December 9th and Sunday, December 18th.

Long Table 2 | Can you host a Longest Table event and help people get through the winter?

“During this time, we’re inviting workplaces, churches, streets, clubs, neighbours and friends to unite around warming bowls of nourishing food. Colleagues can get an extra Christmas party in at lunchtime and communities can use village halls to host festive feasts. Friends and families can even use this as an opportunity to carve out an hour (or two) to unite around one table. Everyone is invited to take part,” added Tom.
