January transfer window: Forest Green swoop for former Dundee United and Lincoln defender Jamie Robson

Forest Green have made their fourth January transfer window acquisition by landing defender Jamie Robson for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old left-sided defender has signed from Lincoln City – who he previously joined in the summer of 2021.

Before that, Robson had spent 10 years at Dundee United – where he made over 170 first-team appearances, including 35 in the top flight of Scotland.

The full-back played 47 times during his 18-month spell at Lincoln City. He has made 16 appearances in League One this season, with his last appearance coming in the Imps’ 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town on January 2.

Upon signing for Rovers, Robson said: “I’m happy to get the move over the line and I can’t wait to get started.

“I’m hoping to play a lot of games. I think it’s a great opportunity for me to get some more game time under my belt.”

Head of Performance & Recruitment, Stevie Grieve, said: “Jamie is a great signing for us and we’re looking forward to working with him.

“He will bring energy, enthusiasm and real intensity to the way we play.”

The Scotsman is ineligible for tomorrow’s game against Birmingham City as he is cup-tied.

This week, Rovers have signed Swansea City defender Brandon Cooper on loan and snapped up Cooper’s team-mate Jordon Garrick, the striker joining Ian Burchnall’s revamped side on an 18 month deal.

Rovers have also added teenage keeper Fiachra Pagel, who joins from Drogheda United and will be loaned back out to the League of Ireland First Division side.
