January transfer window: Rovers in race to sign Aberdeen midfielder

MOST READ

Forest Green have enquired about signing Aberdeen midfielder Dean Campbell on loan, according to reports.

The Scottish Premiership side are willing to let the 20-year-old leave on loan to gain regular playing time, according to Football Insider.

League One outfit Bolton and Darrell Clarke’s Port Vale are also reportedly keen to land the midfielder this month.

Rovers could be an attractive destination for Campbell, where Rovers boast Scottish trio Nicky Cadden, Regan Hendry and Jack Aitichison.

Campbell has made 73 first-team appearances for the Dons and is under contract until the end of next season.

The midfielder has represented Scotland at Under-19 level and has also been used as a full-back and on the wing during his time at Pittodrie.

The versatile midfielder has made 71 appearances for Aberdeen, 35 of them starts.

However, Campbell has found regular first-team starts hard to come by this season due to the form of captain Scott Brown and Scotland international Lewis Ferguson.

Letter to the editor: GlosWomen’s response to Dr Simon Opher’s article

Dear editor, it was good to see Simon Opher’s account of his meeting with Chrissie Lowery from the Night Angels - women working hard to provide front line support and, impressively, funding this themselves. We really admire and respect the women doing this important work.
