Former BBC Radio presenter Faye Hatcher will hand out an award at a glitzy event to champion the food and drink scene in Gloucestershire.
Faye will represent Stroud Times at the Gloucestershire Foodie Awards on Monday at Blackfriars Priory in Gloucester.
“It’s fabulous the Gloucestershire Foodie Awards are back again,” said Faye.
“I remember interviewing founder Johnathon Smith about the first ever awards, and loved his passion for celebrating all of Gloucestershire’s finest chefs, restaurants, pubs, cafes, street food and pop-ups. We’re really fortunate to have these talented people living in Gloucestershire, and it’s right they’re recognised.
“Food brings communities together, it’s a talking point and it nourishes our body and soul. I know it’s going to be a wonderful night, celebrating everything foodie in the county. I’m also looking forward to the food.”
With the event growing in popularity, this year has seen an impressive number of entries across sixteen categories, including five new additions for 2024: Start-up of the Year, Event Caterer, Locally Sourced, Vegan Taste and Baked Goods. The complete set of finalists is available for viewing on the official website or please see list below: https://www.gloucestershirefoodieawards.co.uk/2024finalists.
Jonathan Smith, Founder and Director of the Foodie Awards said: “The Foodie Awards aim to shine a spotlight on the outstanding contributions of our region’s food and drink community, highlighting the individuals who work so hard behind the scenes. We’ve been overwhelmed by the level of talent and passion showcased in this year’s entries. Our judging panels have faced a tough challenge in selecting the finalists from such a high calibre of entries.”
