Short stories are back

Following a two-year break, Stroud Short Stories is hoping to return to a live setting for its next event.

Open for submission from any Gloucestershire writer until September 19th, the theme for the event is WILD! Ten stories will be selected and their authors will read them at the Cotswold Playhouse in Stroud on Sunday, November 7.

SSS Organiser/Editor John Holland explained: “Our last live event was two years ago in November 2019. Because of Covid our last two events were on YouTube, but we so miss the buzz of a live event, so I’m very much hoping our WILD event will be live in front of another sell-out audience. It’s been a long wait.”

SSS normally receives about a hundred stories for consideration. John’s co-judge this time is local author, events organiser and self-publishing expert Debbie Young.

This event is part of the Stroud Book Festival. Tickets will be on sale from the Cotswold Playhouse website from October 8.
