Stroud bank earmarked for closure

Banking giant HSBC has announced the closure of a further 114 branches across the country – including Stroud, which will close next May.

The group is seeking to find other roles within HSBC for those affected, but it estimates 100 staff could leave.

Branches across the UK will close from April next year, with HSBC blaming the pandemic for a decrease in customer use and a move to online banking. The group says it will update and improve its remaining 327 branches.
