Twelve-year-old Jack Masters has been crowned 85 Big Wheel Champion after securing victory in the final round of the Dursley & District Motocross Club Championship, held at the newly developed Gossington Motoparc this past weekend.
With a 28-point lead going into the final round, Jack faced mounting pressure from his competitors but held his nerve, delivering a strong performance to claim his first-ever championship title. He was presented with the coveted No.1 red plate, designed by GP Grafix, which he will proudly display until the start of the 2026 season.
The championship finale attracted more than 250 riders and was run under blazing sunshine on a demanding track. The event was organised by John Hawkins, Lawson Benjamin and Carl Benjamin, working in partnership with local farmer Dan Moss of Hurst Haylage, whose collaboration brought the new venue to life. The circuit was praised by riders and spectators alike for its exciting design and accessibility to all skill levels.

Jack’s journey in motocross is built on commitment and a strong support network. He funds his racing by selling eggs and hay, trains regularly with friends, and works closely with his coach Carl Jones, a respected youth motocross trainer with riders competing at club, national and international level. Jack’s bike is also expertly maintained by Trevor Plant of Plant MX in Littlecombe, Dursley, whose weekly support ensures it is always race-ready.
Next up for Jack is the final round of the British Cup at Marshfield Motoparc, a fast-growing national series run by Carl Benjamin and his team.
Beyond racing, Jack is also a proud ambassador for Andy’s Man Club, a men’s mental health charity offering free and confidential support groups across the country every Monday evening. He wears the charity’s logo on his race jersey to raise awareness among the motocross community.
