MOST READ

Three balaclava-clad thieves smashed their way into a petrol station and stole a large amount of cigarettes.

The incident happened at the Shell Petrol Station in Nailsworth at around 2.35am yesterday morning, Wednesday.

Three men attempted to break in to the rear of the premises, using tools to attack the back door. When this failed, one of the men went to the front and smashed his way in through the main entrance.

The men then proceeded to take a quantity of cigarettes from behind the kiosk.

Two of the men were dressed in black with their faces hidden by hooded tops and balaclavas. The third man was wearing a dark blue hooded top and also hid his face with a balaclava.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage which they believe is relevant from between 2am and 3.45am.
