Calling young artists – can you take your work to the next level?

Three Storeys in Nailsworth will be staging their Next Level Art Exhibition from 7-26th February next year.

“We are asking for young artists, aged 4 to 19, to submit their work for an exhibition in our gallery and café,” said Deb Kakoz.

“At a time of increasing challenges with mental health, the climate crisis and economic hardship, art can offer a means of distraction, escape and expression for all. It can be a tool to help children and young people through tricky times, or a way to celebrate good times. Art can bring people together, and we want to give children the chance to feel good about the work they create, who knows where it might lead in their future.

“Three Storeys wants to encourage young artists as they develop their creativity and give them a space to do this. We want to see the talent and imagination of the children, displayed for everyone to enjoy, on real gallery walls.  This is why we are launching our first ever exhibition, soley for young people aged 4-19, living within 10 miles of Nailsworth.  Being in a joint art exhibition is a great way for budding artists to get their work seen by a wider audience.

“The application to the exhibition is free; we want to make this as accessible as possible to all young people. Further information can be found on our website; www.threestoreys.co.uk/next level.

“We will be awarding one artist a ‘People’s Choice’ prize; we will ask visitors to the exhibition to anonymously vote for their favourite piece of work. The winner will be announced on the last day of the exhibition.”
