Former Forest Green striker Andy Mangan is set to join Real Madrid.
Mangan, 38, has been earmarked to join the Spanish giants due to his close relationship with boss Carlo Ancelotti’s son.
Davide Ancelotti, who is an assistant manager at Madrid, undertook a coaching course with Mangan.
Mangan moved into coaching in 2018 and held roles alongside best friend Joey Barton at Fleetwood and Bristol Rovers.
Since joining Stockport in July, Mangan has been credited with playing a key role in their rise to the top of League One.
Mangan signed for Forest Green from Bury under Jim Harvey and went on to score 26 goals in 46 games, before leaving to join Wrexham in 2010.
He returned for a second spell in 2013 – arriving on a three-year deal before having his contracted terminated.
