Gloucester has ranked as the UK’s best hidden gem getaway location for Christmas this year.
With just 13,340 searches and 840,900 Instagram posts, Gloucester is among social media’s lesser known locations for a Christmas getaway.
The city hosts an array of celebrations over the festive season, including an annual Christmas concert. Visitors to the area can enjoy the great outdoors by going on a Christmas lights trail, a wintery walk to some of the city’s grassland parks, or even taking a ride on the Gloucestershire-Warwickshire Steam Railway for a journey back in time.
A new study conducted by Christmas Tree World has analysed factors such as number of restaurants and attractions, average nightly price for a hotel during December and each location’s level of interest on social media to reveal the best-rated locations around the UK where Brits can enjoy a festive staycation – using a reverse ranking, the study has also revealed the lesser known hidden gems for families to visit this Christmas!
