No-one wants to pay more for their mortgage than they have to, but with interest rates looking set to increase, it’s important to make sure you’re on the very best possible deal.
Right now, mortgage interest rates are very low, at just 0.1%. However, a recent article in The Times predicts an increase in the base rate of interest from the current 0.1% up to 0.25% at the end of 2021, with a second rise to 0.5% in Spring 2022, and up to 1% by the end of 2022.
Homeowners who have come to the end of their fixed-rate mortgage term and are now on a standard variable rate should consider remortgaging now before the interest rates rise.
We know that getting a mortgage or remortgage can be a stressful experience, so watch this video now.
