Popular independent fashion store expands within Five Valleys

Independent fashion store, Priyanka, has expanded its booming Bohemian fashion business into a second shop within the Five Valleys Shopping Centre in Stroud.

The flagship store found next door to Curio Lounge opened in March and the owner has been overwhelmed with the positive response.

Ashok Kumar, owner of Priyanka, said: “I have been delighted with the welcome we’ve received in Stroud since opening our store at Five Valleys earlier this year.

“I design the majority of the clothes and hand pick the fabrics myself, ensuring superb quality and original designs – I strive to offer the very best to my customers.”

The new sister store, which can be found inside the shopping centre opposite the indoor food market, offers a fresh new range of Bohemian style clothes all priced at £15, including dresses, tops and skirts as well as men’s shirts, children’s ponchos and a colourful range of harem pants suitable for both men and women.

Around 90 per cent of the clothing found in the store is designed by Ashok and then tailored and handmade by his 300-plus employees based in Rajasthan. Ashok believes he will be able to employ another 10 tailors in his home village just by opening the new Priyanka sister store.

The new shop has created three new part-time jobs in Stroud and follows the good news announced last week that a new £650k Specsavers store will be opening in the centre next month.
