Summer rain won the day as King’s Stanley and Painswick 2nds Gloucestershire County Cricket Division Seven League clash was abandoned.
Earlier, Painswick skipper and former Gloucester rugby star Nick Marment won the toss and asked King’s Stanley to bat at the Marling Recreation Ground.
After a sluggish start, Stanley captain and opener Jamie Bish was caught by Nathan Fagg off the bowling of Adam Wager for two from 25 balls.
Jack Clement was joined by former Stroud captain Paul Frape and the duo gave Stanley a firm foothold. Clement posted a sparking 84 from 84 balls before falling to Emily Austen off the safe hands of Rob Austen.
Frape clubbed 50 from 73 balls before losing his wicket to Emily Austen.
Stanley finished their 40 over innings on 200 for the loss of eight wickets.
In reply, Painswick reached 27 for the loss of one wicket before rain stopped play.
