Stroud and Nailsworth viewers could spot a familiar face on the BBC tonight as Avening-based actor Richard E. Grant joins the star-studded cast of The Celebrity Traitors.
He will join Michael Sheen, Jerry Hall and Amol Rajan around the round table, alongside Bella Ramsey, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Maya Jama and King Kenny.
Richard E. Grant is a familiar face around the district and is often spotted at Stroud Farmers’ Market and at a number of eateries in Nailsworth, where he has become a recognisable local presence.
The extended 75-minute debut episode starts tonight at 8pm, Thursday, with Claudia Winkleman again hosting the murderous game.
Viewers can expect some fresh ideas, and executive producer Sarah Fay said they “always want to push the envelope” with the show’s elaborate tasks.
“We’re always trying to evolve existing ideas to bring them into a new life or coming up with different cultural references,” she told the show’s press launch.
The celebrities will be playing for a £100,000 prize for charity.
The final amount will depend on how well they perform in the tasks, regardless of any possible tensions over who is a faithful and who is a traitor.
